July 2005, 50th Anniversary High School Graduation, Coleen wrote:
We are about to celebrate 50 years of marriage. In those 50 years we have lived in Des Moines, Tipton, and Davenport, Iowa and returned to Dallas Center 33 years ago. We are still here.
We have three children, two girls and one boy, seven grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Our oldest daughter lives in Iowa and has one child. The second daughter lives in North Carolina and has three children and three stepchildren. Our son lives here in Iowa and has three children. We have no great grandchildren at this time.
Currently I’m retired and live 3 miles east of Dallas Center on acreage with Clarence. I took care of our youngest grandchild (Hannah, age 2) this last winter and enjoyed that very much.
In the summer I like working in my flower gardens, and mowing the yard. I also do volunteer work for Dallas County Conservation.
I worked for insurance companies in Des Moines and as a wire cutter for a company in West Des Moines.
The most special day at Dallas Center High School……was graduation!
