Since graduating from Dallas Center High School in 1955, I received my BS Degree in Education from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.  In 1985 I received my Masters of Education from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.  I taught 3rd grade at Roosevelt Elementary for 25 years.  I retired from teaching in 1997 and now do a little subbing, enjoy grandchildren, play hand bells, and volunteer at church and do a lot of quilting.  Willard and I were married in 1959 and moved to California where he worked for Jetway.  In 1966 we moved to Ogden, Utah for his job as field service manager.
We have three children, Cindy (recently married to Derrick LaPee’), Brian (married to Amy) and Steven (married to Rachel).  We have four grandchildren, Jason (who is married to Jordan), Jeremy, Caitlin and Ethan.  We also have two twin great grandsons, Luke and Mason and will have a great granddaughter in October.  We are very fortunate to have them all near us and spend lots of time doing things as a family.  Brian is a computer specialist with Albertsons Foods, Cindy is in Criminal Investigations for the IRS and Steve is a graphic designer for Pip Fabrications.
We have lived in South Ogden, Utah for 39 years.  We recently moved into a new house that is all on one level.  We enjoy traveling and have made trips to the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand, Hawaii, the northwest and the south.  Our latest trip, last October, took us back east to see historical sights and then up to the northeast and Canada.  While the kids were growing up we made a trip to Iowa every summer so they could experience life on the farm.
I think the things I remember most were the camaraderie of all the members of the class and doing things as a group.  I remember how frustrated Miss Fredricks would become when we put off learning our lines of the plays and how much Freck liked to debate with Mr. Parr and the clothesline debacle at Mr. Rutt’s.  I was looking over the annual from 1955 and most of the teachers remembered how enthusiastic and loyal our class was to DCHS and our involvement in most of the school activities.
